SDG 8 includes sub-targets on economic growth, increasing productivity and creating decent jobs. Forced labor is to be combated and modern slavery and human trafficking ended by 2030. Goal 8 also calls for improving resource efficiency in consumption and production worldwide and aims to decouple economic growth from environmental degradation. Depending on which indicators are used to measure progress, the achievement of the goal of a more sustainable Germany by 2030 is assessed differently. The progress calculation of the official German Sustainable Development Strategy includes nine indicators and the indicator list expanded by 2030Watch adds five indicators to this list.
