Reduce inequality within and among countries

The sub-targets set out in SDG 10 are intended to lead to greater income equality, more self-determination and social, economic and political inclusion. At the same time, equal opportunities are to be ensured by eliminating discriminatory laws, policies and practices, and safe migration and mobility of people are to be facilitated, including through responsible migration policies. Depending on which indicators are used to measure progress, the achievement of the goal of a more sustainable Germany by 2030 is assessed differently. The progress calculation of the official monitoring includes two indicators, 2030Watch supplements this with four indicators.

Where does Germany stand in the implementation of SDG 10?

Percentage of SDG implementation:

Progress is calculated using the mean values of the indicators.

Official monitoring

The official monitoring comprises two indicators and measures income distribution and equality of opportunity through education on the basis of the proportion of foreign school graduates. On this basis, the calculated progress is 63 percent.

Civil society monitoring

The extended indicator list of the civil society monitoring consists of five indicators, including one official indicator with a modified target value and three supplementary indicators. Since the data for the indicator "Discrimination in the EU" has not been updated since 2015, only two supplementary indicators can be taken into account in the calculation.

The data for this indicator has not been updated since 2015 and is therefore not included in the overall calculation.
