Civil Society Conference in preparation for the World Chemicals Conference ICCM5 on 22.9. in Bonn, Germany.

In order to inform civil society actors from the global North and South about the issues of the World Chemicals Conference, which will take place from 25-29 September in Bonn, and to involve them in the negotiation process, the Forum Environment and Development is organizing a half-day conference on 22 September from 3-7 p.m. at the office of the BMUV in Bonn. Together, creative ideas and strengthened networks will be used to bring new momentum to the ambitious SAICM Beyond 2020 process. The event will start with a panel on which, among others, Bettina Hoffmann, Parliamentary State Secretary of the BMUV and Mohammed Khashashneh, Secretary General of the Jordanian Ministry of Environment will discuss the proper handling of chemicals and waste. In the workshops that follow, there will be an opportunity to exchange views on various topics. The evening will end with a fishbowl discussion and a joint dinner. Admission is free.
