Environment on the ear: "Water - our most precious wet".

Ensuring availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all is the goal of SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation). While access to clean, potable water and sanitation is largely ensured in Germany, German water bodies are in poor condition, with high levels of phosphorus and nitrate pollution. In addition, the distribution and use of drinking water will become a potential source of conflict in the near future. Water stress and water scarcity are becoming more and more of a problem internationally, but also in Germany.

Together with Dr. Durmuş Ünlü, managing director of the Alliance of Public Water Management (AöW), Juliane Grüning discusses in the new episode of the DNR podcast Umwelt aufs Ohr why the priority for public water supply is so important in an emergency and why politics must create suitable framework conditions against pollution and competition for use.

Answers to these questions can be found in the podcast, which you can here listen.
