DBU Textile Compass - circular business models for a sustainable industry on December 5/6, 2023

Global textile production doubled between 2000 and 2015.Fast fashionis producing new designs and new collections in ever shorter periods of time in order to satisfy demand and generate new demand. Like many other industries, the textile industry therefore largely functions as a linear economy according to the motto "take - make - waste": Valuable and finite raw materials are extracted to make products that end up in the trash at the end of their useful life. What is needed here is a circulareconomy. How can a circular economy ensure greater sustainability in the textile industry? This will be the topic on December 5 from 13:00 to 18:00 and on December 6 from 9:00 to 13:00 at the DBU Center for Environmental Communication in Osnabrück. Project examples, discussions and workshops will show entrepreneurial approaches and offer a glimpse into a possible future.
