CCS: necessity or irresponsible risk

Under the radar of the public, the German government is currently planning an unprecedented industrial ramp-up of Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS), i.e. the capture and subsequent injection of CO2 emissions deep underground, with its Carbon Management Strategy. In a position paper, more than seventy scientists and energy experts, as well as organizations and companies committed to climate protection, warn of a "geological blind flight" and a disaster for the energy transition(https://energiewende-2030.de/hochlauf-ccs-jetzt-stoppen/ ). What is the truth of their arguments? And what would be the political task for civil society here? The Ecosocialism Network and the Ecosocialism Initiative invite to the webinar with Dr. Reinhard Knof (Bürgerini gegen CO2-Endlagerung Schleswig-Holstein) to answer these questions. Start is at 18:30 on Wednesday 25 October on Zoom.
