Sixth Civil Society Forum for Sustainability - Influencing the European Green Deal

Europeans:inside want to live in a cleaner environment and pass it on to future generations, where energy is more affordable, transport is smarter and jobs are more numerous! The European Green Deal is the EU's most ambitious plan yet to make this a reality and make the EU the first climate neutral continent by 2050. The Real Deal project aims to bring Europeans:inside closer to the decision-making processes at the heart of the green and just transition to ensure their voices are heard.

Following the highest turnout in the 2019 European elections in more than two decades, citizens' increased awareness of their rights as Europeans, and renewed interest in citizens' assemblies and similar formats across the continent, the Green Deal is a true test of building trust, legitimacy, and transparency.

Now is the time for European institutions to use innovative tools, formats and processes for citizen participation and rule-making consultation, while mobilizing and engaging people with a new and appealing narrative about the need for a sustainable Europe for all.

The next meeting of civil society actors who want to drive this process forward will take place online on November 8 & 9. You can register here until November 4th.
