Panel discussion with top politicians on the Bundestag elections
On June 9, 2021, a digital panel discussion with top politicians* on the federal election will take place under the question "What is #worldlyimportant?".
Coping with the Corona pandemic and its consequences is currently the defining issue worldwide. The impact of the pandemic on society, the economy, and democratic systems is massive and can be severe in its consequences for people. It compounds other long-standing challenges, such as overcoming global poverty or growing inequality. Tackling the climate crisis also remains a focus.
How can a sustainable transformation succeed after the Corona pandemic and overcome social inequality - nationally and internationally?
The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development with its 17 Sustainable Development Goals adopted at the UN Summit in New York in September 2015 shows the direction in which the necessary transformation must now go. The programs and funds launched must be geared to this. With the 2030 Agenda, the global community aims to tackle global challenges such as hunger and poverty, climate change and resource consumption. The Corona pandemic is making it even more difficult to achieve these goals. Efforts must therefore be significantly increased. More solidarity and greater international cooperation are needed to develop solutions for a fairer, socially and ecologically sustainable future for all people worldwide.
With a view to the federal elections in September, the motto "what is #worldlyimportant" will be used to discuss central and controversial issues for the coming legislative period with top politicians.
