"Fit for the futures: Strategic Foresight 4 SDGs" - Event at the Science Summit for the United Nations General Assembly

On Sept. 22 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. (CEST), the event "Fit for the futures: strategic foresight 4 SDGs" will be held as part of the 8th United Nations General Assembly Science Summit. The 17 SDGs are an urgent call to action for all countries in our global partnership, as they are at the heart of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Current dynamic developments in geopolitics, the environment and climate, and the economy are creating new challenges that must be addressed in the implementation of the SDGs. Achieving the SDGs also depends to a large extent on our ability to take the right actions today with our knowledge of the future. In this session at the UNGA 77 Science Summit, experts from policy and academia will discuss the benefits of strategic foresight and its utility for implementing the SDGs, and explore various plausible methods to better prepare for the future.
