Further information on this indicator
-
The indicator shows the proportion of women on supervisory boards of listed companies and companies subject to full co-determination (Dax-30). These are generally companies with more than 2,000 employees. In 2016, 106 companies were included in the calculation. The majority of management positions in the economy and their gender distribution are therefore not covered by this indicator. The term management position is not universally defined. In general, it is understood to include all those persons who have at least a certain degree of responsibility for personnel or budgets. The data basis of the indicator is formed by the publications of election results in annual general meetings of listed companies and companies subject to full co-determination.

The German government is pursuing the goal of allocating at least 30 percent of all new supervisory board positions to women by 2030. Since 2016, all listed companies and companies subject to full co-determination have been required by law to allocate at least 30 percent of all new supervisory board positions to be filled to women. 2030Watch considers this target value to be unambitious and has proposed a higher target value (see: Women on supervisory boards, modified target value).

For indicators without a set baseline by the German Sustainability Strategy, 2030Watch uses the 2008 baseline of the EU2020 Strategy.
-
This is an official indicator of the German sustainability strategy. 2030Watch has proposed a modified target value for this (see: Women on supervisory boards, modified target value).
