Basic decision of the German Sustainability Strategy
On November 30, 2022, the German government adopted a fundamental resolution committing itself to the 2030 Agenda and the German Sustainability Strategy. In this resolution, it sets out how the implementation of the strategy is to be made more efficient in the future and what structural changes will be made to this end. Among other things, interdepartmental "transformation teams" will henceforth prepare the work of the State Secretary's Committee for Sustainable Development, which is intended to strengthen the involvement of all departments in sustainability policy. Initially, in 2023 and 2024, the six transformation areas named in the DNS are to be topics in the State Secretary:s Committee (human well-being and capabilities, social justice; energy transition and climate protection; circular economy; sustainable construction and transport transition; sustainable agricultural and food systems; pollution-free environment) as well as, in addition, the topic "International responsibility and cooperation as a lever of transformation".
